Lesson 11 of 25 · 7 min

Why a car can be taken quickly

A car can be taken in weeks because the collateral is movable, titled and saleable.

Track 22 lesson 23 already walked the procedure: a taking after the agreement's conditions are treated as met, then a sale. This lesson does not re-teach that procedure. It is the reason the clock is short. A car is movable, titled and saleable in weeks. Track 1 lesson 2 priced recovery speed on day one. A car's speed is weeks. Pledged shares can be sold in an afternoon. A house, the next lesson, is months.

Pellbridge Servicing's invented path. Default is day 0. The car is taken on day 22. It is sold on day 48. Proceeds are $11,850 against a balance of $17,240. The 22 days are not Track 9 lesson 6's cure window: they are the time to locate and take movable collateral, not a stated number of days to restore cover. The 48 days are the time to convert a titled object into cash.

Track 1 lesson 8 is a margin call: a failed test, then a sale of collateral. Repossession is that call on a car, with no cure window in this invented agreement. Liquidity is the whole of the speed: the car can be moved, the title can be transferred, a buyer exists in ordinary used-car time. The rules that govern taking, notice and sale vary by state, and a reader's own situation belongs with a qualified professional.

Day 0, day 22, day 48, proceeds $11,850 against $17,240. That is recovery speed, not a ranking of outcomes. Rules vary by state. A reader's own situation belongs with a qualified professional.

Unlike Track 9 lesson 6.

Twenty-two days to take, forty-eight to sell, $11,850 against $17,240. The speed is a property of the car, not of a conversation.

On an invented path, default is day 0, the car is taken on day 22 and sold on day 48 for $11,850 against a $17,240 balance. Why is the clock weeks, what leftover sits before fees, and who does a reader's own situation belong with?

Car repossession is a margin call with no cure window on collateral that can be moved, Track 1 lesson 8 plus Track 1 lesson 2's recovery speed. Open What a margin call actually is, procedurally →
