Lesson 25 of 25 · 5 min
The reconstruction, and whose monthly job it is
The printed totals were always quotients; forming them again each month is the platform's job.
You can now take a sample statement and recompute an interest leg, a blended advance rate, a trigger, a shortfall and a sale-to-cure by hand; doing that every month on a real facility is what the platform does. The inputs sit on the printed rows; the operations are multiplication, addition and division.
Key terms
- Hand reconstruction
- Forming an interest leg, a blended advance, a trigger, a shortfall and a sale-to-cure from a letter's own rows.
- Monthly job
- Repeating that reconstruction each time a real facility produces a new statement. That repetition is what the platform does.
Worked example
The March totals, once more
Halden & Wren sample, 31 March 2026. Close $1,858,563.47, book $6,032,795, lending value $3,277,251.25, threshold 70 percent of market value.
- Interest
- $11,343.47
- Blended advance
- 54.32%
- Trigger
- $2,655,090.67
- Headroom
- 55.99%
- Shortfall on the printed book
- $0.00
$3,277,251.25 ÷ $6,032,795.
$1,858,563.47 ÷ 0.70.
Five recoveries, already finished on 31 March. Forming them again on the next letter is the monthly job.
