Options Strategy Builder
Every options strategy is just a combination of legs with a shape. Pick one and see its profit-and-loss at expiration, what it’s used for, its risk profile, and a worked illustrative example.
← All modulesWhen it’s used
You own the stock and want income, accepting a cap on the upside in exchange for a premium today.
Risk profile
Caps the gain at about $7.50; the $2.50 premium cushions the downside. Breakeven near $97.50; you still carry most of the stock’s downside.
Worked example
Own 100 shares at $100, sell the $105 call for $2.50. Above $105 you’re called away — gains capped, premium kept.
